the next google?

How many times are we going to hear, "google killer" or the "next google" I wonder? Anyhow, here is another one... the behind the scenes video is kind of cool. I've requested a guest pass/invite, so we'll see if I get to play around with it before it goes live. "Wolfram Alpha, a new "computational knowledge engine" based on the work of Stephen Wolfram.

Twitter, facebook, and real time info in the face of tragedy

I'm not going to spend alot of time talking about the Athens shooting tragedy (plenty elsewhere) but I do want to comment on one thing that I found interesting. Before most of the info hit the news, very accurate accounts were going up on twitter and facebook. Thoughts on the library of the future

One of my colleagues posted a question to his facebook wondering what the library of the future would look like. Here is my unedited response which is a little more casual given the nature of fb discussions :In terms of physical space, it needs to be inviting, and adaptive to a variety of users -- easily configurable furniture (by the user), the same with lighting, and also a mix of quiet and "discussion" areas. I promise to share all of that online.oh, and I need to take a look at where my freelance stuff is headed....
